Abstraction is a creative game development studio established in 2007 in The Netherlands with a no-compromise attitude that delivers cutting-edge results. Renowned for taking on technically demanding projects and providing support teams for AAA publishers, Abstraction does not shy away from a challenge and has delivered 200+ SKUs across 60 games over the last 14 years. The company is also engaged with creative co-development and DLC projects and is developing an unannounced internal game based on an original IP.

We transitioned from an external recruitment partner to abstraction’s in-house recruitment team. Over time the recruitment team grew from one recruiter into a team of three in-house recruiters to meet the hiring needs.
We grew the team from 50+ people to 80+ people and we’ll be growing another 30% over the next year covering programming, game design, art and production.
When we started the candidate influx depended heavily on external partners - being a large cost item. Currently, almost all professionals are direct hires as a result of direct sourcing and applications.
Abstraction contributes to large game development projects and has a strong focus on resource planning. Next to the talent acquisition strategy and implementation, we set up the interviewing processes, assessment processes and reporting.
